Aboriginal Culture Excursion
Aboriginal Culture Excursion
Morley year 9 students took part in an Aboriginal culture experience at the Perth Hills National Parks Centre in Mundaring during week 5 of this term. Students participated in a range of hands-on activities which included making tools using traditional methods, learning about bush food and remedies, and listening to stories from the dreamtime. The excursion was run by very knowledgeable members of indigenous groups, both local and regional, who presented students with opportunities to learn and experience many different aspects of indigenous culture. Students enjoyed the excursion and were fantastic ambassadors for the school, exhibiting courtesy and maturity throughout the day. Comments from students included “Amazing! Had lots of fun” (Cindy Duong) “”It was good, very interesting” (Ahmed Nour) and “Let’s do it again!” (Jonathan Phan).
