Model Solar Car School Based Project

Students are provided with the opportunity to enter the Western Power (Synergy) Model Solar Car Challenge.

Students design, build and run a model solar car as specified by the regulations issued by Western Power.  The project is an extra-curriculum activity designed to extend the students in the areas of Physics and Engineering.  Students develop solar panels, electric motor, axle body, chassis and steering when creating their solar car.

Morley SHS has had great success at the State event and represented Western Australia at the National Championships.  Western Power sponsors flights and accommodation for one teacher and two students to attend the National Event.
