Morley Senior High School provides a rigorous academic environment that challenges all students.  A wide range of fully accredited courses of study are offered that articulate with university studies.  A comprehensive counselling service ensures students select appropriate subjects that meet university course prerequisites .

Morley Senior High School has a strong tradition of academic excellence and continues to achieve enviable academic results in all areas of endeavour.  Comprehensive curriculum guides explain to students subjects and courses of study available at the school along with highlighting other key features of the school’s curriculum which include special courses in Music, Technology, Aeronautics, Dance, Theatre Arts, Drama, Japanese, Chinese and Italian.  A Gifted and Talented Programme operates for more able students in Years eight, Nine and Ten.  Students who seek an alternative to academic studies in year Eleven and Twelve may enrol in Vocational Education and Training Programmes which include studies in Visual Industry Design or a general course of vocational studies.

Assessment and Reporting

Parents can expect regular feedback associated with student progress.  The appropriateness of each student’s progress is regularly monitored and reported to parents to ensure timely intervention should it be required.  Parents may request progress information at any time throughout a student’s programme of study

Year eight to ten student learning is structured according to students attaining appropriate outcomes across eight learning areas.  Each learning area has specific strands in which students exhibit confidence across eight levels of competence.  Reports contain levels attained, outcomes achieved and teacher comments are issued each term.

Year eleven and twelve students achieve marks based on set assignment work and exam performance each semester.  These subjects satisfy university entry.  Interim reports are issued each term with comprehensive reporting occurring each semester.
All students are provided with a comprehensive overview of course expectations including assessment requirements at the commencement of each subject.
