Curriculum
Our Library provides the help and support students need to become effective and critical users of ideas and information
- we empower our students to become independent learners and knowledge builders
- we provide an extensive non fiction collection supporting learning programmes, fostering competence and stimulate interest in using information and ideas
- teacher librarians work with other teachers to design learning strategies to meet the needs of individual students in all
Learning Areas
- our focus is to fully integrate information literacy outcomes into the Curriculum.
The library network is internet based and can be accessed from anywhere in the school via the school intranet. An online encyclopaedia can be accessed from home
Reading Enrichment
Morley SHS’s Library fosters an appreciation and enjoyment of literature and leisure reading for students and staff.
Years 8 – 10 English classes participate in Reading Enrichment programmes, promoting wide reading as a valued and enjoyable activity.
Our Library has a bright and colourful reading area which is surrounded by our fiction collection, magazines, newspapers and picture books. Beanbags and arm chairs are provided to our students, allowing them to be comfortably seated when reading.
