Business Studies

The context in this area of study provides students with the knowledge and skills required in the modern business environment.

The courses studied in years 9 and 10 develop the student’s skills in document production, handling their own finances and maintaining appropriate business records.

Year 9 topics include –

• Looking After Your Finances
• You in the Market Place
• Document Production and Presentation.

Year 10 topics include –

• Small Business
• Business Records Management
• Legal Studies
• Document Production and Presentation.

For Senior Students, Years 11 and 12 cover three main strands of study within the Business Studies Course.

• Accounting (TEE Subject)
• Administrative System (Office Skills)
• Small Business Management

Accounting will be replaced by the Accounting and Finance Course of Study in Year 11 in 2007 and Year 12 in 2008.
