The context in this area of study provides students with the knowledge and skills required in the modern business environment.
The courses studied in years 9 and 10 develop the student’s skills in document production, handling their own finances and maintaining appropriate business records.
Year 9 topics include –
- Looking After Your Finances
- You in the Market Place
- Document Production and Presentation.
Year 10 topics include –
- Small Business
- Business Records Management
- Legal Studies
- Document Production and Presentation.
For Senior Students, Years 11 and 12 cover three main strands of study within the Business Studies Course.
- Accounting (TEE Subject)
- Administrative System (Office Skills)
- Small Business Management

Accounting will be replaced by the Accounting and Finance Course of Study in Year 11 in 2007 and Year 12 in 2008.
