Chinese is becoming one of the important languages in Australia due to the increasing business and political relationship with Australia. Morley Senior High School promotes the learning of Chinese culture and language engendering a broader understanding of China. Through this language programme Students at Morley Senior High School are positioned to build and strengthen their links between Australia and China.

 

Students at Morley Senior High School are taught  elementary speaking and writing in Chinese. Main Chinese characters are introduced as students develop in their studies. Students also have opportunity to build  their cultural awareness of China.

 

 

Morley Senior High School offers Chinese Language students comprehensive courses including 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B.

Students have the opportunity to practice one to one oral conversation with native speakers tutor during class. 

 

 

Exchange Program: Morley Senior High School students have opportunity to take part in an Exchange Programme to China every two years. This allows students the chance to experience an authentic Chinese lifestyle. Every other year Morley's sister school, Hangzhou no. 2 school, visits Perth and Morley students have the opportunity to host these students in their own home.

 

 

Activities and Excursion: Every year, Morley Senior High School celebrates Chinese New Year through a variety of different demonstrations such as Kung-fu and Lion dances. Morley Senior High School also provides extra activities during Language Week. Excursion often consists of trips to Chinese restaurants for a taste of Chinese delicacies.
